Indiana’s Historic Pathways Receives 2020 Innovation Award from the National Scenic Byway Foundation
Indiana’s Historic Pathways National Scenic Byway is honored to receive the 2020 Innovation Award from the National Scenic Byway Foundation for our Buffalo Trace project. The volunteers along the Buffalo Trace Trail sincerely appreciate being recognized with such a prestigious national award.
Educational boxes were developed for fourth grade teachers and students in eight southern Indiana counties, containing lesson plans and items that tell the story of the Buffalo Trace. New activities and items are added each year. In addition, several teacher workshops have been held and the next workshop is planned for fall 2021. This project has helped hundreds of fourth grade students learn about the history of Indiana and their community.
